After You Report

Compliance is everyone’s responsibility; now that you have filed a report, this information will be helpful.

After you complete your report you will be provided with a unique code called a report key and will create a password. After two to three business days, use your report key and password to check for feedback or questions.

Every report is carefully reviewed and routed to the office best able to evaluate the concern and determine next steps. The investigator’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and effectively address concerns may be impaired if the reporter does not respond to questions.

Once the review and/or investigation is complete, a follow-up message is posted in the Hotline (EthicsPoint) system. These messages do not provide details and are designed to maintain compliance with privacy and human resources laws.

Whether a report is anonymous or not, there are state (Michigan Whistleblowers' Protection Act (469 P .A. 1980, Health Facility Whistleblower Protection Act (2002 PA 731) (MCL 333.20180)) and federal laws that protect whistleblowers. The university follows regulations to protect whistleblowers.
